Itinerary

The Wine & Cheese Lunch Tour in Paris has become a staple for any gourmand traveler. The tasting is designed to be a fun and different way to spend a meal in Paris. Instead of going to yet another restaurant, this Wine and Cheese Lunch is a great opportunity not only to taste good French products but also to get an education about them.

The tasting starts at noon in a beautiful tasting room. You’ll taste five different wines, coming from five different regions of France. From Champagne to Bordeaux, and Sancerre to the Rhone, just sit back and savor this tasty Tour de France of wine and cheeses in style!

Most of the presentation will be focused on wine. Yet, your sommelier will suggest pairings, and will explain to you why certain cheeses might work better with certain wines. While you indulge in two of France’s best delicacies, you will learn about French wine, how to read a French label, how to pair it with food and be taken through a tour of France’s main wine regions.

A day spent walking around Paris can sure create an appetite, so servings of wine and cheese are generous. In addition to the wine and cheese, some charcuterie (smoked ham from the South West of France, saucisson from Corsica) will bring even more joy and color to the table. Don't miss out on this fantastic tasting opportunity in Paris!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your policy with children and teenagers? -- Participants who are age 17 years old may taste wine if accompanied by their parents who allow them to do so.  Children ages 5 to 16 are welcome to join the tour but their wine glasses will be kept full - with WATER!

Are your tastings in English? -- Yes. The tastings are - by default - in English. However, you may request another language in advance: French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, German, Portuguese.

Which Champagnes will we taste? -- Good ones - usually one Brut, one Demi-sec and one Rosé. All of the selections of Champagne are remarkable. The selection should help you learn more about French Champagne, and discover what you really like and why.

Do I need to bring anything? -- No. Just your smile and maybe your camera!

Any pre-tasting advice? -- Maybe. Make sure you don't brush your teeth right before the tasting, that would limit your perceptions and pleasure in drinking wine!

What's your tipping policy? -- Tipping is not mandatory at all. Yet, if you are satisfied with the service provided, your host will be pleased to accept your tip. The Wine Tastings are not "service compris" (as restaurants are, for instance).
